Yemen was the first nation in the Arabian Peninsula to give the right of vote to women - he did so in 1967 (South Yemen) and 1970 (North Yemen) - just before Portugal presented the full gender equality in the voting! The next country of the Arabian Peninsula was Bahrain in 1973
