Depends on your school's financial aid policy, but an EFC of zero, the more likely it is that you get the maximum need-based financial aid in the form of scholarships. A family can't contribute to your child's college expenses may not have the credit to cosign a student loan, but it may not be necessary since it is likely that you qualify for enough grants to cover the expenses. Merit-based financial aid is a completely different story, but you may be able to do some of their expenses with that.
