The payment of any debt will help your credit score if the payments were made in time. I can't estimate how much your score is improving. I don't know your current score, and each of the of the credit bureau uses a differrent formula. Paying off this debt WHILE IN DEFERMENT will probably help in the long term, because that will reduce your debt/ income ratio. In the short-term deferral means that you are not obligated to pay, so that to get the most impact, you will probably have to call your lender and request your loan to be placed back in a state refund in the order of payments which affect your credit in a positive way and monthly. Otherwise, not really considered the true history of credit establishes if you are not even required to pay.
