B. esteem needs are filled before we may attain self-realization. The humanistic approach of Maslow is based on a hierarchy of needs that is characterized by the physiological needs, safety needs, love and belonging, esteem needs and self-actualization. Before any of the needs that can be achieved, this theory proposes that everyone should start at the beginning of the hierarchy before they can be auto-updated.
