The answer is D. All of the above. Groundwater is the water that is present under the ground. Soil water accumulated in the pore space. The pore space is the space between the particles of soil and rock or water is stored in cracks and cervices of the rocks. Different types of dust particles and rocks store a different amount of water. The groundwater is the main source of fresh water in some areas and constitutes 30% of the Earth is fresh water. In the event of drought, when surface water dries up the groundwater is a reliable source of water.
