Why do people take advantage of those in crisis?

Most of the people take advantage of those who are in crisis because they are the most vulnerable. Their emotions can be easily manipulated, and due to your emotional state of people can usually get help from them. When people aer in crisis, tend to feel that things are out of your control and when asked to do something for someone else, a void that can be fed because they are only partially in the control of someone else's life, even if only for a moment. That false sense of control gives them more confidence to overcome their challenges, but it can also destroy them for the worse.
