The Berserkers were vikings, who would randomly enter a state of senseless, possibly even feral, rage. This proved to be a useful element in the battle, while their lack of senis that in this state of not reaching them or, even worse, their allies, killed. Among their own people, they believed that the spirits of various territorial, lethal or otherwise aggressive animals, would fall upon them, initiating the 'Berserkergang', that is to say, the state of being crazy. Such animals, including bears and wolves. For other examples of wolves within the Nordic culture, please review the information on 'Fenrir'. Nothin' on bears aside from this.
