A person accused of a crime is being brought to the CRIMINALcourts by the state. If found guilty the person may be fined or sentto prison. A person who is sued gets to the CIVIL courts for anotherlegal person. The side that loses the case, you will have to pay costsand maybe make restitution to the person who wins.
