The tone that best describes this poem is the despair, the term "patient", it stressed. The rose is on a bed, which can refer to a human bed or a bed of vegetables and it is understood that pink is inevitably going to die. The worm, symbolises the destruction. The poem belongs to the English poet and painter William Blake (1757-1827). Blake was considered an important figure in the history of the poetry and visual arts of the romantic era.
