The correct answer is D. it was the first officially recognized case of the industrial pollution of sea water.The disaster in Minamata, or more commonly known as for Minamata disease, was discovered in Japan, in the city if Minamata, in the year of 1956. It was practically a strong pollution of the sea caused by the Chisso factory, which was the release of methylmercury through their sewage. The people, through the consumption of sea food were getting sick and very dying, and the same thing happened with the animals. The pollution extends over a period of 36 years, from 1932 to 1968 until it was finally stopped.
