Darwin discovered that the fossilized remains of giant sloths are found in places where the small sloths live in the present. While there is a similarity between The bones of the carcasses of armadillos and the shells of the ancient Glyptodon fossils.Darwin was reflecting on why he found fossils of extinct animals in the places where it is also the similar, living animals. In the end, these observations reinforce the idea that today's living species are descended from older, extinct species.
