The molecule that can have an octet expanded is H3PO4.An octet-expanded refers to a situation in which a compound has more than the number of valence electrons in their outer layer. The number of valence electrons is 8, but a compound with an octet-expanded can have up to 35 electrons in its outer layer. An example of this type of compound is H3PO4, which has 32 valence electrons in its outer layer.
