A zero of a function is the value of x for which f(x) = 0f(x) = 16x^2 + 32x - 9 = 016x^2 - 4x + 36x - 9 = 0(16x^2 - 4x) + (36x - 9) = 04x(4x - 1) + 9(4x - 1) = 0(4x + 9)(4x - 1) = 04x + 9 = 0 and 4x - 1 = 04x = -9 and 4x = 1x = -9/4 and x = 1/4
