The reason why some of the plantation owners punished enslaved persons was : B. to keep them as helpless as possibleThe slaves on each plantation always outnumbered the numbers of the owners. This means that the owners aware that the slaves could revolt at any time and in reality put their lives in danger. To control this, the owners often punished their slaves to break their fighting spirit, before they even think of revolting.
