Catholics do not agree with the teachings of the Bible. However, the Protestants, especially in critical areas such as the Eucharist, Reconciliation, and salvation by faith and good works, the role of the pope, Purgatory, etc, All of these are Biblical in origin, but rejected by the Protestants. Martin Luther even went so far as to launch a series of books in the Old Testament, because he did not agree with that theology teaches, including Purgatory. Even thought to throw the Epistle of James because it contradicted its teaching that salvation was by faith alone. Instead, he chose to ignore it.
