Where can I find information on student finance?

I am from the U.S and I am planning to do my higher studies in the UK. I am not sure how to find necessary student money in the UK. I am in need of some student finance help to pursue my studies there. Is it possible to get travel grants for students from the US who study in the UK? It will be highly appreciated if you could provide me with some information on the various agencies I can approach for student funding UK and how I should approach them. Also, what courses are eligible for those aids and loans?

Well, if your concern as an international student in the UK is financing studies, I think the information below can be helpful. One source, and in fact the most important one, is student loans from the US. One point you should remember as you plan to seek a student loan from a US lender is that student loans for international students are not as attractive as those designed for students within the US. One of those places where you can find various student loan options for students who want to study in the UK is Study Abroad Loan. This website is owned and operated by Envisage International Corporation in the effort to help students find the suitable financial help for them.

The website has developed a tool that you can use to find all the available loan options for you by simply entering a few details. To make your search easy, the website has divided the loans into categories. The first category is Study Abroad Loans for the students who are going to study abroad for a semester or a year when they are still enrolled in a school in the USA. In addition, if you are a US student who is planning to enroll in a foreign university for a complete degree program, the option is Foreign Enrolled Loans. You can find more information about both using the link

However, these student loans are not the only available options for the bright ones who wish to find funding for study in the UK. You also have the option to approach a number of international organizations for financial support. A few of them with a history of providing student grants for travel and study are the Fullbright Commission, WHO, Soros Foundation, the World Council of Churches, the United Nations, and AMIDEAST. However, there is a point of caution for you: these organizations normally process your application only if you are in your home country. Therefore, it is important to make sure that you apply for their grants well in advance so that you complete the procedures before you leave the US to the UK.

If you want to explore other options, there are many other private organizations as well, offering financial aid to students who wish to study in the UK. To know more about such opportunities, it is a good idea to use the IEFA website. is pioneers in this field with a lot of valuable resources on how to find various scholarships and loans. If you are a US student, who is planning to study in the UK, finding suitable student finance is not as easy as finding for study in the US. If you are enrolling in the UK, many lenders will not offer the options and flexibilities you enjoy when you enroll within the US. Therefore, a wise move you can make is to as the institution itself about the possibility of funding. That is, when you inquire about the courses and other relevant information, ask about the various financing options available for an international student for that particular course. The institution will be more than happy providing you with information about all the available options for you to join the course. In my opinion, this is the best possible way for an international student to get a comprehensive idea about the financing opportunities ahead. Therefore, as you search for colleges and courses in the UK, collect information about financing from those institutions themselves.
