When is Bear Mountain Oktoberfest?

I will be in New York in September and I have heard that there is a Bear Mountain Oktoberfest around those dates. I have heard that Oktoberfest Bear Mountain has nice things to offer. I just saw the Oktoberfest logo and it convinced me that I should go there because my favorite drink is beer.

It is a great idea to attend this social event during your stay in New York. You can indeed go in mid-September and also in October. The Oktoberfest at Bear Mountain will take place from September 22nd to October 28th this year, at Anthony Wayne Recreation Area. It is very close to Bear Mountain State Park hence you can go to this festival after visiting the zoo that is the home of bears, owls, eagles, and deer.

You can spend the morning there and then go to listen to and dance some polka since the festival starts at 12 pm and finishes at 6 pm every day. The music at the festival starts at 12:30 pm and it finishes at 5:30 pm.

Each weekend since the beginning of the festival until its end, there will be a different band entertaining visitors. On October 13th, the Grammy Winner Alex Meixner Band will be playing there and on October 20th, the 18-time Grammy Winner Jimmy Sutrr Band will perform.

Oktoberfest and Bear Mountain match perfectly because the views of the mountains can make you think of the Bavarian Alps, while you enjoy drinking your favorite German beer or wine and eating Schnitzel, Bratwurst, Knockwurst, stuffed cabbage, Spatzle, Pierogis, pretzels, or a common hot dog. You can read the full menu and the prices here https://visitbearmountain.com/special-events/oktoberfest/

You can use cash and credit cards to pay at all food and beverage stations. The improvements for this year include 4 party wagons with 16 taps each, with more bartenders at each one of them, additional mobile food carts and expanded buffet lines.

If you want to stay overnight, you can book a room at the inn. It is a member of Historic Hotels of America, the official program of the finest historic hotels in America. The logo of the Bear Mountain Inn may make you think more about Berlin than about Munich because of its bear. But the logo of Oktoberfest that shows two steins full of beer reassures you that you are at the right event, inspired by the Bavarian one.

I enjoyed Oktoberfest at Bear Mountain a lot about four years ago. It was wonderful with the beautiful view of the mountain landscape. There were many people but it was not overcrowded. But then, the following years it was moved to Anthony Wayne Recreation Area and everything changed. It is at a very short distance from Bear Mountain State Park, but it is a shame that this festival lost all of its charm just because it had to be moved to a place that has a larger parking. The lines are long, there seems to be no organization and the view is not as beautiful as it used to be. Personally speaking, this festival is not what it used to be. And I would only go again if I am near that place for some reason, or else I have lost interest in this festival and its new location.

I went once to a Bear Mountain Oktoberfest and I remember that I was greatly surprised by the beautiful landscapes. It is a natural area that you can visit even when there are not special events to go and enjoy the calmness of the forest and the soothing views of nature around you. Some people find that Oktoberfest Bear Mountain prices are high, but they actually depend on your own thirst and appetite. So the more you drink and eat, the more expensive that this festival will be for you.
