When does the USF academic calendar start?

I’ve searched for a detailed USF academic calendar and cannot find a good one. So, I hope you can help me with the USF schedule a bit. When do the terms start? What about USF commencement? It seems I don’t know anything about the university. In addition to the USF calendar, I’d like to get a look at the USF registrar. This is a lot to ask, but it’s really important.

Any school year brings numerous important days to remember. We cannot simply keep them all in our heads. So, the schools always have some place to look for an academic schedule online. I’ve found a descriptive page with lots of information and will try to pass it all to you.

First of all, it should be mentioned that the calendar of USF starts with various dates depending on the term you are looking for. So, let’s take a look at the fall term of USF. It’s opened on August 9 with the preparations for the school year. Here, students can register for the courses of 2018 fall and can do so until August 17 without additional fees. The Monday of August 20 is the official start of classes and a drop/add week. Among other notable dates of August is the 27th—senior audit program registration.

Later, the classes go as planned with the exception of a few holidays including the Labor Day, Veterans’ Day, and Thanksgiving holidays. On November 30, fall semester classes end and the final exams begin. December is also the time of USF commencements. So, be ready to hear a few announcements.

After dealing with all those end-of-the-term chores and preparing for the next one, a spring term begins on January 7. This semester includes the following holidays: Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and a spring break. Also, important dates to remember are February 1—the final day of spring graduation application, March 25—registration for summer/spring 2019 degree seekers, April 26—the last day of spring classes. Then, USF exams and commencements come again.

So, this is a schedule of USF’s academic year and its most important events. In general, the University of South Florida has a standard calendar. If you want to take a look at the full schedule and look for more events, here’s the link— https://www.usf.edu/registrar/calendars/

Unfortunately, I cannot say anything about the registrar of USF except to search for it on the website I’ve given you.

I’ll add that all USF commencement ceremonies are free to attend and can even be watched online. There’s a live stream for those parents and friends who cannot make it in person. Yes, the general atmosphere is absent, but, at least, you get to see your loved ones.

The Summer 2018 commencement date is August 4. The fall one will take place on December 7 at the Yuengling Center.

I even know the schedule. The ceremony will begin at 6 p.m. for Bachelor degree recipients from such departments as anthropology, history, biology, chemistry, English, etc. Later, at 9 p.m., Bachelor recipients of Sociology, Physics, Psychology, Religious Studies, etc. will come instead. 1:30 p.m. is also for the Bachelor degree.

The full list of all departments can be found here: https://www.usf.edu/system/commencement/ceremony-information.aspx
In the end, USF students of Master and Doctoral degrees will close the ceremony.

The best way to find information about USF registrar is on the university’s official website. It’s all clear for me. Here is the link of where exactly I go for it: http://webcal.forest.usf.edu  There are many filters you can sort through and can find any information you need. It’s always better to be able to find answers yourself, even if it takes some time to learn to use the system.

In general, USF schedule is easy to remember as it’s a pretty standard one. I’m sure most universities have a similar one.
