In order to tell you to a river lock attendant that you wish to go through the lock, you must sound one blast prolonged followed by one short blast. You should expect around 400 feet away from the lock and wait for the blinking light signal that allows you to enter. Also keep in mind that commercial traffic always has first priority in the entry of the locks.
