Assuming that "three in a half" is 3 1/2 . 3 + 1/2 = 6/2 + 1/2 = 7/2 (LCD) . 7/2 * 2/5 = 14/10 (Multiplication) . 14/10 = 7/5 . Therefore, 2/5 of 3 1/2 = 7/5 or 1 and 2/5
