The solution of A regular octagon has 8 equal angles and 8 equal sides. When the rotation of an octagon around its centre, 1/8th of a full circle of rotation will cause the adjacent sides to match in each other.A circle has 360°, and (1/8)th of 360° = 45°. Therefore, a minimum of 45° of rotation to the left or to the right(as it is symmetric, so the order does not matter) makes each of the edges over the position where an adjacent edge is located before.
