A lawyer is a lawyer, but a lawyer may not necessarily be a lawyer. On television, in advertising, and our friends, we often hear the reference to "attorneys" and "attorneys." Despite the ease of categorization of these two words as synonyms, in fact, mean different things. The difference is very little, but what matters a large number of state bar associations, particularly in the investigation and prosecution of the unauthorized practice of lawcases. However, in practice, the terms have become interchangeable in the united States.
