A Foundation-level professional qualification introduced by the UK government in September 2001, which is available in England, Wales and Northern Angerof the earth. Similar to degrees awarded in the United States and in the UK is on the same level as Higher National Diploma and Certificate, but below Bachelor's/Bachelor of Arts level of education. Courses are typically two years and are offered in universities and colleges of higher education. (Wikipedia).
