When you "read in" something, you are finding a meaning implicit in the text and assuming that it was what the writer intended. Forexample, there is a "right to privacy" in theConstitution, but later interpretations it was found that the meaning impliedby the Article IV, which refers to people being "secure in theirpersons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searchesand seizures..."
