An "alternative perspective" might be one that does not proceed by the lines converging towards a point of disappearance (s) or to a virtual infinity.. you can be what you look oneself in a distorting mirror, or. It might just be a pompous and detailed alternative way of expressing a "different point of view" (that is to say, like this?) Here, the Romans probably did well in the first place as a PERSPECTIVE is derived from the Latin "per-spicio = to see through it !
