What is a bursary and how does it work?

I’m asking a very important question that many teenagers would like to get an answer to—what is a bursary? Are they something like a scholarship? Or do they resemble loans? Are there various bursary forms or types? All these questions circle my mind on a daily basis. I’ve tried to search them online, but the huge piles of information only confuse me.

After researching a student hardship fund for weeks, I’m not sure that the Internet is as all-knowing as I’ve thought.

I’m interested in student grants UK and know that bursaries have something to do with them.

Most often, bursaries are issued based on personal circumstances, specifically the financial situation. While theoretically there is a difference between these two types of aid, many people and universities use them interchangeably. To know what you are looking at, you have to read the agreement and its specifics.

Each establishment has its own rules of application, eligibility, and terms. You should consult the support services of each place to find more about each offer. Bursary form and size also differ from place to place. Usually, they depend on the type of courses you are going to attend.
