An artery is a blood vessel that carries blood from the heart and the delivery of oxygen and vital nutrients to all the vital organs and peripheries in the body. The thickening of the walls of the arteries is dangerous because it can lead to constricted blood flow. The fatty material and cholesterol (plaque) that stick to the walls of the arteries that lead to thickening and constricted the flow of blood and this results in a lack of oxygen to the heart muscle.
