The Mason-Dixon Line (or "Mason and Dixon's Line") was surveyed between 1763 and 1767 by Charles Mason and Jeremiah Dixon to respove a border dispute between the British colonies in Colonial America. Part of borders of Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware and West Virginia (then part of Virginia). The Mason-Dixon Line has become a cultural symbol of the border between the Northern united States and Southern united States.
