What documents do you need for Australia student visa application?

How to apply student visa in Australia? Are the requirements the same for all countries? I’m from the U.S. and want to go to Australia for my studies. Do I need an Aus student visa at all? It would be really great to just buy a ticket to a plane to come to find your perfect university. However, I understand that nothing is that simple. I’ll probably have to apply for study permit of some kind. What kind of visa do you need to take classes in this country? How much time will student visa application take?

I hope I can give you the full answer to your question “How to apply for a student visa in Australia?” The whole process is quite standard and has no unexpected requirements or surprises. A few years back, I had to wait only about two or three weeks to get an answer. As all future students, I had a lot of worries on my shoulders. However, getting a visa wasn’t one of them. The only student permit to apply for is your regular student visa. It works with various types of studying including vocational and higher education, various courses, post-graduate research, and more.

There are a few requirements: you have to be at least 6 years (with is, obviously, not a problem for you), have to be accepted to an educational institution, and provide health insurance. As you see, all of them are easy to meet. The Australia student visa cost is about AUD 560. Here is a small disclaimer of the documents checklist that may help you a bit: https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/supporting/Pages/500/disclaimer-document-checklist-tool.aspx

The application for student visa starts with the preparation of all papers. You can start it as soon as you get your enrollment letter that will provide the necessary information for getting a visa as well. You should also contact your university to get some migration help from it.

Considering that you are from the States, you don’t need to provide any proof of your English language skills. The thing you have to prove is your financial capacity. You have to provide evidence of funds to cover your trip and accommodation, you have to meet the annual income requirement. You have to get your bank account details and history scanned or shipped as well. You may also need to undergo some health examination and meet health requirements. Here is what you need to know about this aspect of application: https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/trav/visa/heal/meeting-the-health-requirement/health-examinations/my-health-declarations

Getting an Australia student visa is quite easy when you meet all requirements and do everything in advance.

Remember that a family member can accompany you, but the whole process will take more time, documents, and efforts. It is always good to have some friends or family by your side, but you have to be prepared for the refusal. Coming together will lead to more questions and procedures. Besides, you will spend more money and make the whole trip rather expensive. I’ve already mentioned the student visa cost for one person; the choice is yours.

Australia is a fascinating country and a popular destination for students. With each passing year, more and more people come here to study.

All abovementioned requirements and lists are necessary for the visa subclass 500 which is used for a long stay. However, if you decide to attend some short courses that last less than 6 months, you can just apply for temporary graduate visa. The whole process will take less time and preparation.

As for the required funds, an estimated amount of money required for a month of living in the country is 1,800 AUD. An additional cost is health insurance fee of 371-434 dollars per year.

You can apply for this study permit as soon as you get accepted to an institution.
