You can use it for anything if you are forced to, as in if it is the only knife that you have, otherwise it's pretty useless in the kitchen. Chef knives, vegetable cleavers and dedicated vegetable knife like Nakiri and usuba work much better for the vegetables, as they have the necessary length and the knuckles of the authorization to work in the board conveniently. For even the most delicate of the utility of the knives are too long to correctly replace the peeling or flaking of knives.
