Not was of no help during the Hoover Administration. Roosevelt pushed emergency legislation to provide jobs with building projects and the like. It was called the New Deal. Some of that was unnecessary and wasteful, but for the most part it was a success. There was also a subsidy for farmers not in excess, to limit the number of hectares planted, and this decision was the subject of criticism because many people were going hungry. doing things
