Urea - formaldehyde is a non-transparent thermosetting resin or plastic, made from urea and formaldehyde. It is used in adhesives, finishes, Medium-density fiberboard (MDF), electrical components and sometimes molded into objects. Urea-formaldehyde is also known as urea-methanal. Because it is formed by chemical reactions with formaldehyde is can be a danger to the environment and there is particular concern with respect to indoor air quality. Virtually all the houses and buildings have some material with urea formaldehyde. The problem occurs when the chemical reactions that are involved in the manufacturing of not to use the formaldehyde chemical. This has been a serious problem in the past, when the production processes were of poor quality. It is part of the air quality standards of the Environmental protection Agency.
