What are the requirements for admission to the Charter School of San Diego?

My sister is moving to LA from Chicago on a new work assignment and she's stressed out because she doesn't know if she should send her daughter to public school or she should try a boarding school or charter school. I’ve done quite a bit of research on charter schools and I know that a kid can benefit greatly from one, especially one that espouses good values and sports excellence. Can anyone tell me more about California charter schools? What are the best performing Charter Schools in Los Angeles?

The Charter School San Diego is where my niece goes and I must admit that the experience has been amazing. She has been able to access a wide body of resources since she joined the school, both academic and extracurricular. Over the three years she has been there, I have seen an amazing transformation in her.

Grace used to be an average student in elementary school and her Math skills were always less than impressive. At first, I thought their system wasn’t working and that maybe she should have stayed at her old school. However, in her junior year, her grades started rising and in two years her love of Math surpassed everything. She transformed into a stellar student. She was never the most outgoing girl in class. Now she’s taking part in so many activities I can hardly believe it. I checked out several other Charter Schools in LA area before finally settling for San Diego.

What I like most about them is how they have managed to change my niece into a completely different person. Even outside school, she remains the same force that she has changed into. She’s part of the California Cadet Corps and that has brought her great joy as she gets to travel a lot, meet new people and turn into a social person. I’ve visited the school’s resource center and I have to say, I remain impressed by how much they are willing to go the extra mile to keep students happy and constantly performing at their best.

Other Charter Schools in California I visited were Fresno, Tulare, Kern and Kings. San Diego wasn’t even at the top of my list but I was pleasantly surprised when I finally got there.

I like the school because it isn’t the traditional ‘like you’re used to’ type of school. Their environment is quite pleasant and I’m sure kiddo will enjoy it there.
