Decent modern-day adventure stories haven't changed much since Robinson Crusoe and 20 000 Leagues under the Sea. Like most stories, adventure stories include a protagonist-a hero or heroine and an antagonist, no one or nothing against the protagonist. The protagonist is most commonly on a journey to make new discoveries and find new things that interest them. This trip is almost always physical--that could travel through the forests, on mountains, in oceans, in any place getting to be what we call a dynamic character, a character that has changed from the beginning of the story to the end. Throughout the history may not be a huge resolution of a huge conflict, or perhaps a series of small conflict resolution patterns, according to the book.
