The time units used by scientists to divide The history of the earth are part of the geological time scale. The geological time the scale measures the time and the relationship of specific incidents in the the history of the Earth. It is mostly used by geologists and paleontologists. They define the history of the earth through the study of the Earth composition, then connect facts major geological or paleontological events. Through the use of a geological time scale, scientists have found discoveries and put next to the missing pieces of the past. Probably, the most dominant event found through the geological time scale is the mass extinction of species.
