Shogun was a military leader who ruled most of Japan. Second only to the Emperor, but in practical terms it had more power. The powerful local military commanders were on the loyalty of the Shogun, and were called Diamyo. The Available would then be the noble warriors loyalty to the Diamyo or the Shogun. Thus, in terms of the Feudal Europe we are talking all about the ruling class, and so the Shogun would be the King, the Diamyo woud be the lord, and the Samurai would be the Knights.
