Atoms are made of three main subatomic particles are electrons, neutrons and protons. electrons have negative charge and protons have positive charge and neutrons are neutral , in other words free of charge. Protons and neutrons are in the nucleus of the atom, while the electrons are in the energy of the projectiles that orbit around the nucleusThe mass of a proton is 1 atomic mass unit and mass of the neutron is 1 atomic mass unit and the electron is 1/1836th the mass of a atomic mass unit of protons and neutrons have approximately similar masses, and both their masses together give the mass of the atom as a whole.the answer is 3) a neutron
