The centralization of American politics can in some ways be seen as a good thing, and the state of the system does not allow for a large degree of independence for decision making in the various member states. However, you can see that the centralization in the action when you consider that the headquarters of both the main (the ONLY) two political parties in Washington, DC - the same place that the central government and many agencies.
