The most commonly involved are Bacillus cereus, Campylobacter jejuni, Clostridium botulinum, and Clostridium perfringens.Anthrax is also caused by a bacterium known as Bacillus anthracis. This bacterium produces toxins that cause severe disease. It is usually transmitted from animals and animal products.
