It is very simple, |2x + 4| > 14, we have 2x+4>14 or -(2x+4) >14 (absolute value of the definition), so 2x> 14-4, x>10/2=5 or -2x>14+4, x>18/2=9 implies x< - 9the solution is x>5 or x< -9, so the answer is the number line with open circles in _9 and 5, shading going in opposite directions.
