Hi Burg 5x + 2y = 710x + 4y = 14I'm going to use the substitution property to solve it, So we know that we want to solve 5x + 2y = 7 x 5x = = 7 - 2y x = (7 - 2y)/5x= -2/5 + 7/5 Now substitute -2/5 + 7/5 for x 10x+4y=1410x + 4y = 14 10(-2/5 + 7/5) + 4y= 14Use the distributive property 10(-2/5 y) + (10)(7/5) + 4y = 14-20/5 and + 70/5 + 4y = 14-4y + 14 + 4y = 14Combine like terms-4y + 4y + 14 = 1414 = 14 Add -14 to both sides14 - 14 = 14 - 140 = 0Answer : Infinitely many solutions
