The providence of the colony. Roger was a Puritan. He was expelled from the colony of Massachusetts, by the leader of the Puritan thinking that he was spreading dangerous ideas againt their beliefs. He became in fear of arrest and sending to jail and fled away, and began the settlement of Providence.
