The fraction 36/48 reduced to lowest terms is 3/4. If you want to reduce a fraction to its minimum expression, you must find the greatest common divisor of the dividend and divisor. The greatest common divisor of 36 and 48 is 12. Therefore, divide the dividend and the divisor by 12. 36/48 = (36:12)/(48:12) = 3/4.
