Based on the figure of a plate on top, the inside and the outside of the rims are called CONCENTRIC CIRCLES. By definition, concentric circles are circles that have the same or common centers. And in the figure, both the exterior and the interior of the rims have a common center. In addition, the part between two concentric circles of different radii is called an annulus.
