Psychologists have found that prejudice and discrimination can be reduced by having those being stereotyped and the person that stereotypes them more interaction with each other. It is very easy to stereotype someone who does not truly know and put them in a category. Many times, after getting to know someone, your perception of them changes, so that the increase of the interaction which should result in less discrimination.
