d. immigration to the united States. The golden Age is the period of time that begins after the end of the civil War (1865) to the beginning of imperialism and the Progressive Era (1898). During the golden Age, the US hit its boom in industrialization. This boom in the economy creates the best conditions for immigrants to come to the united states. The work is plentiful and the conditions in Europe were not ideal for many groups. The immigrants from eastern and southern Europe surged. The immigration numbers during this time period are the largest in U.s. history.
