This is totally false, Picasso made use of the inspiration of the works of the past. Pablo Picasso often visited Paris, in one of these occasions, he met another well-known painter Henri Matisse, with whom he had conversations about his paintings, and together they visited the works of art and sculptures that served both of them in search of inspiration. Another Picasso artist friend was André Derain and Maurice de Vlaminck, all of whom served as the inspiration for the work of Pablo Picasso, combined with his fascination for African art.
