Louisa May Alcott [November 29, 1832-6 of March, 1888] wrote Little Women [1868-1869], about the life of four sisters. In the book, the four March sisters were ka Josephine, Margaret, Elizabeth, and Amy Curtis. They were somewhat based on Alcott's life with her three sisters: Anna Bronson Alcott Pratt [16 March 1831-13 of July, 1893], as Meg; Elizabeth Sewall Alcott [June 24, 1835-14 March 1858], as Beth; and Abigail May Alcott Nieriker [July 26, 1840-December 29, 1879], and Amy. Alcott followed the fortunes of his fictionalized family through two sequels: Little Men [1871], and the Boys of Jo [1886].
