Maybe you are thinking of segregation. It would be difficult to make a connection to slavery, since slavery was produced until the 1860s, at which time, President Lincoln ended and he ordered that the slaves be emancipated. Rock and roll arrived in the 1950s, when there was still segregation. That is why the rock music was so controversial in its early years, which helped to change society, linking the black teens and white teens; in addition to some of the most popular rock groups have been integrated, and the others were all black... however, white teens loved their music. The "mixing of races" was especially controversial in the deep south, and in many cities, the politicians tried to rock prohibited.
