The structure of Lewis: this type of structures shows the links between the atoms of a molecule and the lone pairs of electrons that can be present in the molecule. It is also known as the dot structure of Lewis. It is the basic type of drawing, where one can see the lines as the connections and see the points as electrons. It is mostly used to represent the covalent bonds are formed by sharing of valence electrons. For example: the structure of Lewis of water shown in the picture. Therefore, do not show the strength, only the location and the number, as well as the number of valence electrons. Therefore, structures of Lewis, does not show the strength of the bonds.
